CONSERVATION EXPERTISE, compiled by Helen Adcock; Conservation Sciences Publication No 4, 1994; 152 pages; $20

Reviewed by Vicki Hyde

It's been six years since the first directory of conservation-related research and technical skills was compiled by DoC, and the many restructurings since then make this revision vital. Inevitably things have continued to change since the July 1994 publication date, but the clear layout and succinct information makes it easy to use this directory, and there's plenty of space to add your own notes to the entries.

There are enough keywords to be able to track down reasonably specific skills, and the conservancy-based index provides useful geographic delineations. If you need to find almost any organisation with skills in the conservation of natural and historic resources, then this is the reference for you.
