Under The MicroscopeA-LEVEL PHYSICS: NUCLEAR PHYSICS AND FUNDAMENTAL PARTICLES, by Roger Muncaster; Hodder Moa Beckett, 1995;140pp; $54.95 This text has been written specifically for an A-level course and includes content that we do not need here. It contains most of the content for the Atomic and Nuclear Physics in the new Physics Curriculum, but misses out detailed coverage of energy levels and line spectra, the photo-electric effect, and wave/particle duality of light. The book is well written with many good illustrations and covers the content in an easy to read informative manner. This would be a good reference book to have around, especially if you have some students that insist on knowing what a baryon is or how pions exist.
