Quick DipsYear 2000 WorriesConcerns about the potential for computer problems when clocks click over into the year 2000 are justified, according to Peter Doak of Cardinal Network. "People should not be terrified of teh Year 2000 problem, but neither should they be complacent," he says. With less than 800 working days left and some 36 million applications worldwide likely to be affected by the change in dates, it is important for businesses to ensure that they have systems in place to cope. Cardinal Network has developed diagnostic and testing tools to help businesses ensure "Year 2000 compliance". The Ministry of Commerce and other organisations are encouraging businesses to check their information systems. Information can be found at http://www.itanz.org.nz/year2000/ |
