Quick DipsScience CommunicatorsThe NZ Association of Scientists recently announced four awards for scientists who have excelled at communicating with the public. Bruce Thomas, of DSIR Nelson, received first prize for a television programme on Breaksea Island and for newspaper articles. "It is clear that there is a small but active group of scientists who try very hard to keep the public informed, " said Dr David Penny, the association's president. "All scientists should support their activities, and more scientists should follow their example." W |
