Credibility Concerns

I read with interest the reply by Salinger et al [Dec/Jan], especially where they took John Daly to task for "unwarranted criticism" of Stephen Schneider.

Surely as researchers they are well aware of the need to retain credibility? Just because the media doesn't apparently like "careful reasoned scientific arguments" is no reason to stoop to scare tactics. That just leaves you wide open to warranted criticism.

Certainly Schneider's strident warning 15 years ago of the imminent ice age makes me, for one, less likely to listen to him now he's telling us we'll all fry instead!
