Quick DipsScience FederationSeventeen thousand New Zealand scientists and technologists gained national representation last month. The Federation of Scientific and Technological Societies (FOSTS) has been formed by the Royal Society of New Zealand. FOSTS represents the 51 scientific societies affiliated to the Royal Society. "FOSTS will be active in promoting the benefits of science and technology to decision makers in commerce, industry, government and the bureaucracy. Our aim will be to influence the decision making process and to raise the public's awareness of the benefits of science and technology," says chairperson Dr Jim Salinger. |
