RUBBISH AND RECYCLING: ENVIRONMENTAL FACTS AND EXPERIMENTS, by Rosie Harlow & Sally Morgan; Kingfisher Young Discoverers, 1995 (South Pacific Books); 32 pp; $14.95 (paperback)

Reviewed by Jon Russell

Rubbish and Recycling is an attractive publication designed to meet the requirements of the ever-increasing awareness of the environment and human beings' effect on it. Information is clearly laid out in double-page units with a general question being asked and answered as well as a useful "do-it-yourself" section. Every page includes coloured pictures and diagrams providing excellent examples of how to recycle, and thought-provoking questions on how "we" can help. The book presents information and explanations clearly and logically.

The book is divided into thirteen chapters or sections and each provides opportunities for the reader to become more involved. The activities provide some good ideas for students and teachers to pursue further study. Rubbish and Recycling would be a useful resource for any student or teacher throughout the primary school.
