As one of the people who has tried to blow the whistle on the proposal by Aoraki Polytechnic to introduce a Bachelor of Applied Science in Naturopathy, I was delighted to read your editorial in the November issue.

While waiting for the New Zealand Qualifications Authority to complete its review of the proposal I have been inventing other (un)likely degrees. Perhaps NZSM could run a competition -- and offer the results for a fee to any cash-strapped polytechnic looking for a new course to attract the gullible?

Here is my list:

• Bachelor of Prospecting in Divination
• Bachelor of Digital Diagnosis in Palmistry
• Bachelor of Commerce in Numerology
• Bachelor of Future History in Astrology
