Wandering the Web

Here's a selection of interesting Web sites covering a range of topics.

http://chemistry.rsc.org/rsc/
The Royal Society of Chemistry site is not only for chemists but for anybody interested in science; this site is well worth bookmarking. There is a variety of material relating to science and some especially for teachers. There are links to other Web pages, especially in Britain, that you may not find elsewhere. http://www.shu.ac.uk/schools/sci/sol/contents.htm
The Science Online site provides a library with information and links to other science sites, and a lab from which you can carry out experiments and investigations. Teachers may find some ideas here that they can adapt for their own use. Much use is made of Information Technology. A teacher discussion area is provided where teachers can chat to colleagues from other schools anywhere in the world. http://www.telescope.org/rti/
The Bradford Robotic Telescope site lets anybody control this telescope and make requests for it to look at anything in the northern night sky. It is a 46-cm telescope located high on the moors in West Yorkshire, England. It will prioritise your requests and carry them out as time and weather allow. http://ncet.csv.warwick.ac.uk/WWW/projects/gest-science/activities/index.html
This site is for those interested in Information Technology teaching but who would like to add some science into the picture -- try this Web site for some great ideas. http://www.cchem.berkeley.edu/Table/index.html
This is an interactive Periodic Table in which you can click on an element to find out more about it. Novel, but the information could easily be obtained by other means. http://www.uit.no/npt/homepage-npt.en.html
This planetarium explains in a clear and concise manner the northern lights or Aurora Borealis. http://www.eia.brad.ac.uk/btl/
A great multimedia tour all about the stars.
