New Zealand might end up as a net exporter of skills, given predicted shortages worldwide, according to a recent report by the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology. Between 1981 and 1992, New Zealand suffered a net loss of 800 people with science training and 700 with engineering training between 1981 and 1992. It seems this trend is likely to continue.
