RetortsWhat Sort of Whistle? This is my short retort to the very interesting article "Travelling Man -- A Book Review" [May] which begins with "What does the name of Sir Francis Galton mean to you?" Well to me it meant a Galton whistle. But now since reading your article and also after referring to The New Colombia Encyclopedia, I am intrigued indeed. What a man! Charles Darwin's cousin to boot! Please write another article and tell us, inter alia, about the Galton whistle, because although I've got one, I don't know how to use it. Jack F Rolley, Tahiti |
