Science & Religion

[%Xref=|1290|Ray Prebble's kneejerk over-reaction=%March 92] to my %Xref=|648|Viewpoint article=% [Feb 92] exemplifies the tired old anti-religion diatribe which continues to dog discussions on this issue.

His case is completely undermined by the erroneous assumption that I am trying to create a niche for Uncle Moses's Bedtime Stories by bowdlerising biblical myths. Stereotyping only creates a straw man.

Dogmatic naturalism is as much a religion as reactionary fundamentalism and shares its intolerance. All I am trying to do is to focus attention on an emerging holistic view arising from modern cosmology which is neither "science" nor "religion", but which has the potential to transcend both. Requiem in pace, reductionism!
