Quick DipsBetter PasturesLambs grown on lucerne and chicory are likely to have lower levels of worm infestation than lambs grown on grass and clover pastures, according to an AgResearch study. "It appears that dense swards provide a better habitat for larval development and survival, probably due to the micro-climate," says researcher Ray Moss. He sees pasture management strategies using the results of such research as enabling a means of reducing the sheep industry's reliance on chemical control of internal parasites. |
