WEATHER AND CLIMATE: GEOGRAPHY FACTS AND EXPERIMENTS, by Barbara Taylor; Kingfisher Young Discoverers, 1994 (South Pacific Books); 32 pp; $14.95 (paperback)

Reviewed by Stacey Peacock

Weather and Climate explains, in very easy language, about temperature, weather, air pressure and the atmosphere. The book includes facts about weather all over the world, and activities and experiments with helpful diagrams and captions. Each two-page topic includes a "do-it-yourself" section with clear directions. Discover how to make a sundial, build a rain detector, make ice sculptures and go cloud watching.

The pictures are very bright, colourful and detailed. Weather and Climate is set out well and the index and glossary are easy to read and follow.

This book would be useful for projects and assignments at school, but it can be read for fun as well. I found out many different facts and tips about weather and I think that all children of seven years and above would find this book very interesting and helpful.
