Magic Eye

First of all, congratulations on the job you are doing with NZSM. I read it regularly and avidly. I try to keep vaguely aware of what's going on over there for the regular piece I write in the local edition of New Scientist, and I find your magazine invaluable.

What motivated me to drop you a note was your review of the first Magic Eye book and the wish in the last couple of paragraphs for a better idea of how it works. New Scientist of October 9, 1993 carried an article on this very topic: "How to play tricks with dots", by Harold Thimbleby and Claire Needham, pp26-29. Enjoy.
